Tywardreath, which is closer still has a good fish and chip shop, nationally renowned butcher, nice church and local pub. Golant in the other direction has a pub perfectly situated for a sunny midday drink overlooking the Fowey estuary, where you can go on a canoe trip if fancy takes you. Fowey itself is close by with all its attractions. There are many other attractions nearby, namely the Eden project, Heligan gardens, Restormel Castle at Lostwithiel, Charlestown historic sailing port, Carlyon Bay golf course plus traditional ports and villages.
