A good base for exploring the central and northern lakes. Fell and woodland walks from the site. The oldest family owned CL in the UK, established in 1955. Open 1st March - 31st October, Club members are welcome at Shoulthwaite, a traditional working sheep farm. Situated on the A591, three miles south of the Cumbrian market town of Keswick on Derwentwater, within walking distance of Thirlemere and ideally located in the beautiful Central Lakeland Fells, with Skiddaw, Blencathra, the Dodds and Helvellyn all within sight and easy reach. Nestling under Goat Crag on the eastern side of Bleaberry Fell, forest and fell walks are also easily accessible from the site.
