Norwood Farm is situated on the Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire Border and is part of the Welbeck Country Estate, in the heart of the Dukeries. The CL site is close to the Archeological way public footpath which leads to Creswell Crags, once home of the Ice Age Hunter. Creswell Crags is a limestone gorge honeycombed with caves and smaller fissures. Stone tools and remains of animals found in the caves by archaeologists provide evidence for a fascinating story of life during the last Ice Age between 10,000 and 50,000 years ago. The Harley Gallery, The Welbeck Farm Shop, The School of Artisan Food, The Dukeries Garden Centre and The Harley Cafe are within walking distance. The National Trust's Clumber Park and Mr Straw's House are a short drive away in Worksop. Other Places of Interest are: Sherwood Forest and The Major Oak Bolsover Castle Thoresby Park Rufford Park Hardwick Hall - Bess Of Hardwick Newstead Abbey - once home of the poet Lord Byron Nottingham City can be reached by train on the Robin Hood Line at Whaley Thorns station which is within walking distance. Newark, with its antique shops - and time your visit to coincide with one of the Newark Antique Fairs (or visit Hemswell Antique Centre) Chesterfield with its Crooked Spire. Chatsworth Country House, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, Chatsworth Farm shop, Bakewell, Haddon Hall, all in nearby Derbyshire and historic Lincoln, the cathedral, the castle and Steep Hill are all within 10 to 50 minutes drive of Norwood Farm. There are good walking and cycling paths, with some great places to eat nearby.  Shopping in Mansfield and Chesterfield. Meadow Hall shopping centre Sheffield is a 30 mins drive away.
