Walkie talkie, it’s one of the best days out in our opinion, walking and chatting.

It’s really good therapy, fresh air, nature, fitness and best of all it’s free to do. There is always time in the day for a quick 10 minute jaunt or fill the whole day with a monster trek and anywhere in between. All the lockdowns over the last year has made us appreciate all the lovely walks from Paddock House CL. You can literally walk for miles, either to the coast, to the countryside, or to moorland. What we’ve found is the kids chat more, they normally are pretty glued to a mobile device texting and posting. However, it’s difficult, but not totally impossible, to walk whilst looking at your mobile phone constantly.

We have maps for visitors, with walks on , these can all be extended or shortened depending on what you need that day.

The best one is to Saltburn by the sea, you walk down heritage iron ore railway lines, across fields through a village, time to get supplies or stop off for breakfast at the deli, you are then picking up the Cleveland Way, walking through lovely woodland, under a multi-arched Victorian railway viaduct, over the river, don’t worry bridge provided! Then through Saltburn’s Victorian gardens, past the playgrounds and miniature railway to reach the sea. If you’ve still got the legs for it, walk down the pier or the very long beach, or walking over the cliff tops is fabulous too, if you are aching by then a quick paddle in the sea is refreshing to soothe the feet. Time for a pub lunch, a cup of tea, or pint and a glass of wine if it takes your fancy in the many places to eat and chill.
